How to set up your Twinkly lights?

Get started with Twinkly lights using our basic setup instructions. Simple steps to light up your space with vibrant colours. Step by step process to setup your Twinkly lights

  • Connect the lights to the controller and plug the power adapter into an outlet. The lights should turn on, indicating they are ready to set up.
  • Go to the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) and search for “Twinkly.” Download and install the app on your smartphone or tablet.
  • Open the Twinkly App: Launch the app and create an account if you don’t already have one. Follow the on-screen instructions to log in.
  • Select the GENERATION II controller.
  • Press and hold the controller button until the light turns to a solid cyan colour (about five seconds). This indicates that your lights are ready to be paired to your phone via Bluetooth.
  • Follow the prompts to connect your Twinkly lights to your home Wi-Fi network. Don’t close the app during the process. This will allow you to control the lights remotely and use additional features.
  • Position your lights as desired on your tree, wall or other setup.
  • Use the Twinkly app to map the lights. The app will guide you through taking a photo of your setup, which helps it understand the layout of the lights for precise control.
  • Explore the variety of pre-set effects and animations available in the app. Use the app to create custom effects, adjust colours, brightness and animations.
  • Set schedules for your lights to turn on and off automatically. Integrate with smart home systems (like Google Home or Amazon Alexa) for voice control and automation.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • If the lights don’t turn on: Ensure all connections are secure and the power adapter is plugged in correctly.
